“All that man needs for health and healing has been provided by God
in nature, the challenge of science is to find it.” – Paracelsus (1493-1541)
Natural remedies are more popular than ever, and for good reason. Our medical system is broken. The days of relying on your doctor or the latest drug to take care of you are LONG gone.
Don’t believe me? Check this out:
Did you ever consider that pharma companies are using us as a guinea pig for all of their drugs? And WE are almost always losing!
It’s all because of a statistic no medical doctor or pharma rep wants you to know about called “number needed to treat” or NNT. Let me show you some shocking statistics…
What if I told you that I had a new natural remedy for the flu but that in order for it to help just ONE person stay well, 1000+ others would need to have gotten the flu without seeing any benefit from the natural remedy. And in fact, most of them would likely experience nasty side effects as a result of following the treatment.
I don’t think I would be in business too long and you certainly wouldn’t have confidence in trying such natural remedies, right? Yet, when it comes to pharmaceutical drugs, that’s exactly what’s happening.
What’s worse is in spite of these absurd statistics and nasty side effects, millions of people still line up to fill their prescriptions every day. It’s crazy. I feel like I’m living in the Twilight Zone sometimes.
Thankfully, you and I are different. We know the value of healing our body with natural remedies that, in many cases, are safer and more effective than deadly drugs.
Before I show you some sickening stats about NNT, here are some of my most popular natural remedies that I think you’ll really enjoy.

I don’t go to the doctor that often and even when I did in the past, I was never told about the “number needed to treat” stats I’m about to share with you.
NNT is a measure used in communicating the effectiveness of a health-care intervention, typically a treatment with medication. The NNT is the average number of patients who need to be treated to prevent one additional bad outcome (e.g. the number of patients that need to be treated for one to benefit compared with a control in a clinical trial).
The ideal NNT is obviously 1, where everyone improves with the treatment. Sadly, that’s very rare these days. The higher the NNT, the less effective the treatment. Even more worse is that this is much more common these days.
According to mega pharma company, Glaxo Smith Kline, 90% of today’s drugs work in only 30% of the people!
For instance, the NNT for the statin Lipitor is 300, according to recent research and independently confirmed by Bloomberg.com. That means 300 people have to take the drug for one year before ONE heart attack, stroke, or other adverse effect is prevented.
But it gets worse because, with this drug, horrible side effects occur in 5% of the patients. Doesn’t seem like many does it? But remember, just 1 person out of 300 benefits from the drug, while 15 people (5% of 300) will experience terrible side effects (without any benefit).
That means, in this case, you are 15x more likely to be harmed by the drug than you are to be helped by the drug!
And how about the most widely performed surgery on men over the age of 50 – removal of the prostate for cancer. Here, the NNT is 49 which means 49 surgeries are needed to be performed before just one man is helped. What’s more, the side effects occur in 50% of the patients and include things like impotence, erectile dysfunction, urinary incontinence, and on and on.
Thus, a man undergoing this surgery is 25x more likely to experience the side effects rather than the benefits.
So what does all of this have to do with natural remedies?
Well, my hope is that you do whatever you can do dietary-wise and lifestyle-wise to never have to rely on our medical system, which clearly harms more people than it helps. Sure, it can be helpful for mending a broken leg or in the case of acute trauma, but anything else is questionable.
Whether it’s the common cold or preventing common diseases that now plague our population, there are many natural remedies that are likely more effective and safer than what your doctor might prescribe.
